Gowri Raman is a biomedical engineer by training and part of the Medtronic Corporate Venture Capital group based out of the Operational Headquarters in Minneapolis. He originates and manages minority investments in early-stage medical device technologies that are of strategic interest to Medtronic. He represents Medtronic in the boards of venture portfolio companies and provides guidance and input to the management teams. He currently serves on the Board of 10+ MedTech companies targeting Electrophysiology, Neurovascular, Neuromodulation, Structural Heart, Cranial and Spine, Cardiovascular, Pain, GI and Robotic applications.
He has been with Medtronic for 20+ years and has held various roles across clinical support, enterprise sales, marketing, business development and venture capital. Prior to the venture capital role, he managed new market opportunity and portfolio optimization for a high growth segment within the Structural Heart business. Before that, he spent several years in the field in various clinical and commercial roles including direct responsibility of sales of key Medtronic cardiovascular products to large healthcare systems in New York and California.
